Comparison

cleand vs Housekeep

Housekeep is the biggest online cleaning platform in London, with an app, key holding and the same cleaner for weekly or fortnightly cleans. For a regular clean its hourly price is close to cleand's.

The clearest difference is on one-off jobs. Housekeep sells end of tenancy, deep and after builders cleans as a fixed price for the size of the home; cleand sells them by the hour, at the hours we recommend, which for a home in normal condition comes out lower. cleand also lets you cancel later.

Housekeep's terms checked on its own website on 10 October 2026. Sources are listed at the end of this page.

Prices side by side

Regular cleaning

For a cleaner every week or two, the two are priced in a similar way: an hourly rate plus a small charge a visit. The charts above show the current figures.

Housekeep keeps you with the same cleaner for weekly and fortnightly cleans, which matters if you want to build up trust with one person. cleand doesn't promise that yet. Housekeep has no monthly option; cleand does.

End of tenancy and other one-off cleans

Housekeep's end of tenancy price is fixed for the size of the home, with no time limit. cleand's is the hours we recommend at an hourly rate, with one cleaner working the whole booking. For homes up to 3 bedrooms in normal condition, cleand's price is lower in every size we compare.

The trade-off: if the home needs more time than a normal one, you book more hours with cleand and the price rises; Housekeep's fixed price stays the same. For a very large home, one cleaner's 8-hour day may not be enough, and a fixed-price team can make more sense.

Changing your mind

Housekeep's free cancellation ends at noon the day before a regular clean and four days before an end of tenancy or deep clean; after that you pay the full price. With cleand you can cancel a one-off clean up to 2 hours before for a full refund, and move it up to 24 hours before.

Where Housekeep does more

  • The same cleaner for every weekly or fortnightly clean
  • An app, and key holding for regular customers
  • Customer support 7 days a week
  • A long track record: it shows hundreds of thousands of reviews on its own site
  • Fixed prices for big one-off jobs, so a long job doesn't cost more

Where cleand is different

  • Lower prices for end of tenancy, deep and after builders cleans on homes in normal condition
  • Cancel up to 2 hours before the start, not noon the day before
  • Monthly regular cleans
  • Every clean covered by cleand's insurance
