Comparison

cleand vs Maid2Clean

Maid2Clean is an introduction agency run through local franchise offices. It introduces you to a self-employed cleaner you meet first, and you keep the same one. That suits people who want a long-term arrangement with one person.

It works very differently from cleand. You pay Maid2Clean an agency fee each month in advance and pay the cleaner in cash on the day, and stopping needs up to 2 months' notice. cleand takes one card payment, has no notice period, and also does end of tenancy and after builders cleans, which Maid2Clean's offices don't.

Maid2Clean's terms checked on its own website on 10 October 2026. Sources are listed at the end of this page.

What the hourly rate covers

Maid2Clean's advertised rates are "from" prices that combine the cleaner's pay and the agency fee. You pay those two parts separately: the agency fee to Maid2Clean every month in advance, by direct debit, and the cleaner in cash when they come. Its handbook says the agency fee is still due for any visit you choose to skip.

For a one-off clean, its local pages add a booking fee to the hourly rate. Our chart shows it.

Leaving

To stop, Maid2Clean's terms ask for the lesser of 2 months' notice or the notice in your billing letter, with no refunds during that time. They also say that for 18 months afterwards you won't use or employ any cleaner it introduced.
